That is why we are so pleased to support the Stormers this season.

Supporting the team on and off the pitch

Reg Smart sponsors the team’s black training kit and raincoats, complete with the yellow Reg Smart plate-style logo on the back.

The training kit gives the players something smart and practical to wear during Thursday night training sessions, while the raincoats are especially useful for those typical Saturday morning games when the weather cannot quite make up its mind.

Anyone who has spent time around grassroots football will know that training does not stop just because the forecast looks grey. The players still turn up, the coaches still run the session and the football still gets played.

Having suitable kit for those conditions makes a real difference.

Why grassroots sponsorship matters

For families and clubs, football kit costs can quickly add up.

There are shirts, shorts, socks, training tops, rain jackets and other essentials to think about. At the same time, clubs have to manage pitch hire, equipment, referee fees, league costs and all the other expenses involved in running a team.

Sponsorship helps take some of that pressure away.

It means every child can have access to the same team kit, regardless of what their family can afford. Nobody should feel left out because they do not have the latest training top or a suitable coat for a cold and wet morning.

It also helps keep money within the club and the team, where it can be used to support the children and provide the best experience possible. That is what community sponsorship should be about: helping local organisations continue to do good work for the people around them.

For the Stormers, it means the players can train together, play together and represent their team with pride.

We would like to give a big shout-out to all the players at Hethersett Athletic U10 Stormers.

The photos say it all. There is plenty of energy, enthusiasm and team spirit in the squad. Whether they are celebrating a goal, working through a training drill or turning up on a rainy Saturday morning, the players are the reason this support matters.

We would also like to thank the coaches and volunteers who make it all happen.

Grassroots football does not run on match day alone. It takes planning, organisation, encouragement and plenty of early starts. Coaches give their time to prepare sessions and help the players develop. Volunteers help with everything from setting up equipment to keeping the team organised. Parents and families make sure the players get where they need to be.

Those Saturday morning games and Thursday night training sessions would not happen without them.

The work carried out by coaches and volunteers has a lasting impact. Children learn football skills, but they also learn about teamwork, commitment, resilience and supporting one another. Those lessons go far beyond the pitch.

Proud to be part of the local community
